Abstract
Environmental issues often hover around ozone layer depletion, green house effect, deforestation, flood, storms, melting icebergs, droughts, heat waves, and more. It has significant impact on the lives and wellbeing. Floods and drought impact on agricultural produce and the likes of soil fauna. The indiscriminate emission of pollutants in the forms of liquid and gaseous emissions negatively impact on both human and aquatic lives. World Health Organization and various international environmentally related bodies at the regional and local levels are making concerted efforts towards curbing the spate of
environmental abuse. The mass media of communication through their environmental reports have been partnering with various cadres of environmental agencies in creating balanced, factual, timely reports, awareness, sensitization and debates through their platforms so as to engender a society that is sensitive to the ills and plagues related to environments that are fraught with dangers.
